The Dreamcatcher is a traditional item in many Native American cultures. In these traditions dreams are believed to enter the mind from an external source, and the Dreamcatcher, when placed in a window or at the head of a bed, is believed to filter these dreams before reaching the body. The catcher acts like a spider's web catching the good dreams in its net, and the bad dreams are left to exit through the hole at its centre.
